The Children's Center Utah: where hope and healing happen

Where Hope and Healing Happen

Established in 1962, The Children's Center Utah remains the only organization in Utah providing trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health care treatment exclusively to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families and caregivers to enhance their emotional well-being.

As regional experts in early childhood mental health, The Children's Center Utah offers a variety of outpatient therapy services addressing the wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral health challenges faced by young children, including evidence-based treatments for trauma.

Services also include specialized training for early childhood providers throughout Utah.

When families come to The Children's Center Utah, they meet with a compassionate team with unparalleled training for children under seven.

Throughout the treatment process, families discover a sense of warmth, caring, and hope from our professional team.

Thanks to family therapy I feel empowered and I know how to deal with difficult situations with my child. And I think that's the greatest tool I can imagine. - Parent at The Children's Center Utah

The Children's Center Utah provides comprehensive mental health care to enhance the emotional well-being of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and

their families.

Building Resilience

The Children's Center Utah's clinical team is trained to provide evidence-based treatments that are proven to be effective in creating positive, long-term changes for children. Studies show that with the right treatment at an early age, we can truly change the course of a young child's life.

No matter each child's struggle, The Children's Center Utah's clinical team has the expertise to create lasting change that will positively impact the whole family.

Profoundly Changing the Life of a Child

In our 2021-2022 program year, we served 1,051 children and their families through our clinical services.

900 Children served in Outpatient Clinical Services

151 Children served in Therapeutic Preschool Program

Outpatient Clinical Services

Services are provided to young children ages birth through six on-site (or via telehealth).

These services include:

  • Family-focused treatment

  • Psychiatric consultations

  • Psychological evaluations

  • Relationship-enhancing dyadic treatment

  • Trauma treatment

Therapeutic Preschool Program*

Services are provided for preschool-aged children, who need additional support beyond their outpatient clinical services, many of whom are struggling to succeed in childcare or preschool, and who need intensive group therapy to gain resilience and learn essential skills that will allow them to succeed in a traditional preschool setting and kindergarten.

We provide transportation for children both to and from our Therapeutic Preschool Program, and for morning and afternoon sessions, which run all year.

*This program is for existing clients in family therapy that have been referred by a clinician.
